When Amanda joined KCMO Angels three years ago, she was simply looking for a part-time role and a sense of adult connection. However, she quickly discovered that it is impossible to stay on the sidelines once you see the heart of this organization in action. What began as a job soon became a career and a calling, fueled by the weekly stories of transformation happening within the Kansas City foster care community.

As the Director of Operations and Development, Amanda is the strategist behind the scenes. Having previously led the chapter’s marketing and communications, she now oversees the growth of the programs department and ensures that every member of the KCMO Angels team is informed, connected, and supported. While she is a self-proclaimed lover of organization hacks, neat files, and clear charts, her real "fuel" comes from the daily wins—hearing how a teen or a family has thrived because of a volunteer’s consistent support.

This work has deeply shifted Amanda’s perspective on "normalcy." She no longer takes for granted the everyday experiences that many of us assume are universal. She recognizes that these small, normal moments are the very building blocks people need to create a life they are proud of, and she is dedicated to ensuring every child in the system has access to them.

Amanda lives in Kansas City with her husband, their three children, and their wild Goldendoodle, Margo. As an active family, they love to travel, read, and play together, prioritizing shared experiences and the blessing of being close to family.

For Amanda, a fulfilling life is one built on deep connection. She knows firsthand how vital her own "village" of friends and family is through the best and worst of times, and she won’t rest until every child and teen in KCMO has that same village cheering them on.
