Since founding KCMO Angels in 2020, Anne Walton has turned a moment of clarity into a thriving community movement. After attending a women’s conference in 2019 and hearing the heartbreaking statistics surrounding the foster care system, Anne felt a "bolt of lightning" in her chest—a calling she couldn't ignore. She knew then that she had to be the catalyst for change in her own city.

Launching a chapter in the midst of a global pandemic was no small feat, but fueled by the deep need for connection right here in our community, Anne led the organization to a successful launch. Now, six years into the journey, she has proven that while the foster care system is complex, the solution begins with the simple act of showing up. Under her leadership, KCMO Angels has become a vital "village" for local families, providing normalcy and consistent support through the research-informed Love Box® and Dare to Dream® programs.

Anne brings a blend of relentless passion and relational depth to her work. She is a firm believer in the power of a community that rallies together, and she has seen firsthand how intentional connection can change the trajectory of a child's life. Her mission is clear: to ensure that every child and youth experiencing foster care in KCMO is seen, known, and supported.

Anne lives in Parkville, Missouri, with her husband, Ryan, their two boys, and their sweet pup, Poppy. Whether she’s leading her team or spending time with her family, Anne remains committed to the idea that everyone deserves a place to belong.

Anne is always eager to share the mission of KCMO Angels over coffee or lunch. For her, time flies when you’re doing what you were meant to do, and she won’t stop until every child in our city has the village they deserve.
