We currently have over families and youth waiting to be matched in our Love Box and Dare to Dream programs. Our heart at KCMO Angels is to serve every family that makes the decision to foster. This sweet family received their first placement in September of an infant baby girl. They have one biological son, almost age 4. They have no financial needs. Their needs are more emotional and they would love to know of a support group or anything else in the area and could be hugely blessed with monthly care packages. They have wanted to adopt since before they got married. Their plan and hope was always to "make one and adopt one." They recognize that the goal of foster care is not adoption, rather reunification but they keep coming back to foster care as the next way to build their family because it feels like the community's biggest need. Now that they are actively fostering, they are starting to recognize the emotional toll of being a foster parent.

A rockstar single grandmother who has adopted 2 of her grandchildren, and has 5 children experiencing foster care in her home, including an infant she recently took. She also has one she fostered previously that comes back on the weekends. She desires relational connection with a love box leader and emotional support. She would also greatly benefit from monthly care packages provided by our love box.

The George family consists of a single mother with 3 biological children (2 boys/1 girl) ages 9, 6, and 5 along with their new foster baby that is 8 months of age. This was an emergency kinship placement. There was no preparation for items. Diaper/Wipe support and basic baby necessities would be a wonderful help to her household. She would  benefit from our program by receiving monthly care packages to celebrate holidays or upcoming events or basic essentials items.

This family consists of a single mother who has been a licensed foster home resource provider since 2006 and has fostered many children. She has a Medical, Level A, and Level B license. She will either only take all girls or all boys but not both at the same time. She is caring for 4 children in her home, one via Legal Guardianship and 3 foster. The boys are between ages 10 and 16. The family would benefit from additional assistance through Love Box in the form of Curated monthly care packages to celebrate holidays or upcoming events and provide basic essentials items.

Ginger and Lisa are a foster/adoptive family of 11.  They have 3 bio daughters, 1 adopted (very special needs son and daughter who unfortunately passed before we made it official) They also have a sibling set of 3 twin 6 year old girls, and a 9 year old boy and a 1 month old baby boy and 15 year old fosters. They describe themselves as a home full of love with a crazy/genuine family atmosphere. They value experiences and creating positive memories with each other as a priority. Being able to do what they feel they were born to do keeps them going and their home and hearts open. They feel complete right now with a full house and lots of activities going on. Ginger and Lisa are married and have fostered for almost 3 years now. During this time, they have endured some devastating losses but describe their experience like this: When they hear the laughing or consoling or random “Hey Momma G, I love you”, they are reminded exactly why they do this and that every bit of it is worth it if just one child can feel and know they matter and are loved unconditionally.
